Terms of Use
These terms of use cover how you may use poolconstructionandservice.com, its quote form and its research data, what we do and do not promise, and the limits on our responsibility for work done by pool companies.
About these terms of use
Last updated 2026-10-08. This policy is pending attorney review.
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of poolconstructionandservice.com (“Pool Construction & Service”, “PC&S”, “we”, “us”). By using the site or its quote form, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these terms.
What Pool Construction & Service is and is not
- We are an independent matching and information service. We pass your request to pool builders and pool service companies that cover your area.
- We are not a contractor. We do not design, build, repair or service pools, and we do not employ or supervise the companies we introduce.
- We do not hold money, take deposits, or handle payments between you and any pool company.
- Our service is free for homeowners. Pool companies may pay us for introductions, as explained on our purpose page.
- An introduction is not an endorsement or recommendation of any company.
Our vetting page describes the checks we aim to run on pool companies. Those checks are limited and can go out of date, so they are not a promise about any company’s license, insurance, skill or conduct. More about us is on the about page.
Using the quote form
- Give accurate information, and only submit a request for a property you own or are authorized to manage.
- Do not submit someone else’s name, email or phone number without their permission.
- We may decline to send any request, for example if it looks false, incomplete or outside the areas pool companies cover.
- We cannot promise that any company will contact you, give you a quote, or be available on your timeline.
The form’s consent text reads: “By submitting, you agree that Pool Construction & Service and up to 3 matched pool companies may contact you by phone, text and email, including by automated means, about your project. Consent is not a condition of purchase.” You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the company that contacted you, or emailing hello@poolconstructionandservice.com.
Your agreement with a pool company
Any estimate, contract, payment, warranty or dispute is between you and the pool company you choose. We are not a party to it. Before you sign, check the company’s license with your state board, ask for proof of insurance, confirm who pulls the permit, and get the scope and payment schedule in writing. Our guide on how to choose a pool builder and our pool contractor license research can help. If something goes wrong, see report a concern.
No warranty of contractor work
Information on this site is general information
Our guides, cost figures and research are for general information. Costs, codes and permit rules change and vary by location, and a number on this site is not a quote. Nothing here is engineering, legal, tax, financial or safety advice. Check local rules with your building department (see our pool permits guide) and get advice from a qualified professional for your project. Our editorial standards explain how we source and correct content. If you spot an error, email hello@poolconstructionandservice.com.
Research data license (CC BY 4.0)
The text, tables, charts and downloadable data files in our research reports are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, share and adapt them for any purpose, including commercial use, if you:
- Credit “Pool Construction & Service” and link to the report you used.
- Link to the CC BY 4.0 license.
- Say if you changed the material.
The license does not cover our name and logo, photos and illustrations, or the rest of the site. Numbers we report from other publishers, such as government agencies, remain subject to those publishers’ terms, so cite the original source as well. The material is provided as is, as the license states.
Other content and acceptable use
Apart from the research license above, the content and design of this site belong to us or our licensors. You may read, print and link to pages for personal use. You may not:
- Submit false, automated or spam requests, or use the form to harass anyone.
- Try to get around our spam limits, access records you are not authorized to see, or disrupt the site.
- Copy the site’s design or present our content as an endorsement by us.
- Use the site in a way that breaks any law.

We link to government agencies, licensing boards and other sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Disclaimer. The site, its content and the matching service are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from work, advice, quotes or conduct of any pool company, from your reliance on information on this site, or from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us to use it. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Your responsibility. You agree to cover claims and costs that arise from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law and disputes
Governing law and the place for resolving disputes: [to be confirmed by counsel]. Before starting any formal claim, please email hello@poolconstructionandservice.com so we can try to resolve the issue.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and your continued use of the site means you accept it. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Questions: hello@poolconstructionandservice.com.
