  • The finished work, warranty or contract does not match what you were told in writing.
  • High-pressure sales, misleading claims, or someone using our name to contact you.
  • A mistake on our site, or a concern about how your details were used.

  3. We decide and replyWe decide whether the company stays in our network, and we reply to you by email with what we did.

We are not a regulator or a court. We cannot refund a deposit, order a company to finish work or settle a contract dispute, and we hold no customer money. The agencies below can investigate and, in some states, discipline a license.

State Licensing Boards That Take Complaints

If your state licenses pool contractors, its board is usually the first official place to file. These are the 14 jurisdictions with a dedicated pool contractor license or class (October 2026).

Direct complaint pages for three of the largest pool states: California, CSLB: filing a construction complaint; Florida, DBPR: file a complaint; Arizona, Registrar of Contractors: file a complaint. Nevada’s board also runs a Residential Recovery Fund for homeowners who contracted with licensed contractors (see the Nevada State Contractors Board).

In states without a state pool license, such as Texas and New York, report to your city or county building department (the office that issued the pool permit) and to the state attorney general. Every state’s licensing route is in pool contractor license requirements by state.
