Privacy Policy
This privacy policy explains what Pool Construction & Service collects through its pool quote form, who receives it, how long we keep it, and how you can see, correct or delete your information.
About this privacy policy
Last updated 2026-10-08. This policy is pending attorney review.
Pool Construction & Service (“PC&S”, “we”, “us”) runs poolconstructionandservice.com, an independent matching and information site. We connect homeowners, HOAs and property managers with pool builders and pool service companies. We are not a contractor, we do not build or service pools, and we do not take payments from homeowners.
This policy covers this website, its quote form and the downloads we offer. It does not cover the pool companies we introduce you to. Each of them handles your information under its own privacy policy once it receives your request.
Information we collect
We collect only what you give us in the form, plus a small amount of technical data needed to run it.
- Project details: whether you want a new pool, a remodel or pool service; ZIP code and the state it belongs to; budget range; pool type; the project items or service needs you pick; pool size and equipment; how often you want service; whether you are interested in financing; whether you own the home; property type; timeline; and any notes you write.
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and preferred call time, entered on the last step of the form.
- Your consent: a record that you agreed to be contacted and the time you agreed.
- Visit details: the page where you started the form, which form you used, and campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm tags or a Google click ID), if the link had them.
- Download requests: if you ask for a download such as a checklist, your email address and which download you asked for.
- IP address: our server uses it for a short time to limit repeated form submissions and block spam. Our web host may also keep standard server logs.
The form saves your answers step by step. If you stop partway through, the answers you already gave are stored as an unfinished request in our records and CRM. Unfinished requests are not sent to pool companies.
We do not ask for payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, account logins or precise GPS location. Please do not put sensitive details in the notes field.
How we use your information
- To match your request with pool companies that serve your ZIP code and the type of work you need.
- To contact you about your request by phone, text or email, as you agreed on the form.
- To send the download you asked for.
- To keep the form working, stop spam and abuse, and see which pages lead to requests.
- To keep records of introductions and to meet legal obligations.
We do not use your information to show you ads, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Calls, texts and your consent
The last step of the quote form shows this consent text next to the submit button: “By submitting, you agree that Pool Construction & Service and up to 3 matched pool companies may contact you by phone, text and email, including by automated means, about your project. Consent is not a condition of purchase.”
You do not have to agree to buy anything. Message and data rates may apply to texts. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts from that sender. To stop contact from a pool company, tell that company directly. To stop us sending your details to any other company, email hello@poolconstructionandservice.com.
Cookies, browser storage and Google Fonts
Our own site code sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s session storage, which clears when you close the tab, to link the steps of your quote request and to show the “before you go” box only once. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the fonts load. Google says its Fonts API does not set cookies. WordPress sets its own login cookies only for site administrators who sign in. Full details are in our cookie policy.
How we protect and keep your information
Quote requests are stored as private records in the site’s WordPress database. Only site administrators can view them. The form has spam and rate limits. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be exposed.
We have not yet set a fixed retention period. For now we keep requests while we need them to handle your request and keep records of introductions, and we delete them when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep them. Copies held by matched pool companies are kept under their own policies.
Your privacy rights under this privacy policy
Depending on where you live, state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) give you rights over your personal information. We extend the same rights to every visitor who asks.
- Right to know: ask what personal information we collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we shared it with, and ask for a copy.
- Right to delete: ask us to delete the information we collected from you, with some exceptions the law allows.
- Right to correct: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: tell us to stop sending your details to pool companies. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.
- No discrimination: we will not treat you differently for using these rights.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information as defined by California law, so there is nothing for a “limit the use of my sensitive personal information” request to apply to.
